Wushu will debut in 2020 at the ISF (International School Sport Federation) Gymnasiade, the largest school sport event in the world. This 18th Gymnasiade, the Jinjiang 2020 ISF School Summer Games 2020, will host 18 sports with wushu being among the 5 new to the programme. The others include Basketball, Diving, Jump Rope, and Football.
The ISF School Summer Games is organized every 2 years during even-numbered years. This event brings together top school athletes, creating a unique context for high level sport competitions, cultural exchanges and educational programmes. The best student athletes in the world take part in the ISF Gymnasiade individually as part of a selected team from the respective ISF member. Excellence in both sport competitions and educational activities make up the main features of these events.
Conditions for participation
The event is open to students up to 18 years old, depending on the sport-specific age requirements.The educational programme and the sport format of the event shall always be adapted to the age of participant.
For the sport of wushu, boys & girls born in the years 2003-2004-2005 are eligible to compete in wushu competition at 2020 ISF School Summer Games.
Wushu Competition Events
Wushu Competition Events include 9 events for boys including: Changquan, Nanquan, Taijiquan, Daoshu, Jianshu, Taijijian, Gunshu, Qiangshu, and Nangun; and 9 events for girls including Changquan, Nanquan, Taijiquan, Daoshu, Jianshu, Taijijian, Gunshu, Qiangshu, and Nandao.
Registration
Registration will only be possible through ERAS; the ISF online registration platform (https://isf-eras.org/). No other registration system shall be accepted.
