2021 IWUF Anti-Doping Education Program

The fight against doping is of top priority for the International Wushu Federation (IWUF), which has established a zero-tolerance policy for cheating in Wushu in order to protect “Wude – wushu moralities”. Therefore, a value-based Anti-Doping Education program has been implemented as the prevention strategy for IWUF to keep wushu clean since 2014.

IWUF has adjusted education program which can be carried out due to the global circumstance in 2020 and has tried to deliver the education by distance learning techniques. We have delivered two webinars in August and September 2020. For the 2021 IWUF Anti-Doping Education Program, the IWUF will carry out a series with five webinars in collaboration with International Testing Agency (ITA) from September 16 – October 14, 2021 (CET). All wushu athletes, coaches, team doctors are all belong to the IWUF Education Pool and we encourage everyone to register and to participate online.

Since International Standard for Education (ISE) is effective as of 1 January 2021, Anti-Doping Education is a mandatory requirement for all International Federations, IWUF needs to further develop its Anti-Doping Education Program with better planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation which will focus on the Principles and values associated with clean sport as follow:

  • Athletes’, Athlete Support Personnel’s and other groups’ rights and responsibilities under the Code,
  • The principle of Strict Liability,
  • Consequences of doping, for example, physical and mental health, social and economic effects, and sanctions,
  • Anti-doping rule violations,
  • Substances and Methods on the Prohibited List,
  • Risks of supplement use,
  • Use of medications and Therapeutic Use Exemptions,
  • Testing procedures, including urine, blood and the Athlete Biological Passport,
  • Requirements of the Registered Testing Pool, including whereabouts and the use of ADAMS,
  • Speaking up to share concerns about doping.
