Wushu Competition of 2010 SportAccord Combat Games

 

The Combat Games Meeting organized by GAISF was held on November 15, 2009 in Lausanne. Mr. Wang Xiaolin, IWUF Secretary General attended the meeting on behalf of the IWUF. According to the spirit of the meeting, and having discussed with the Preparatory Committee of the Combat Games, the matters concerned the Wushu Competition of 2010 SportAccord Combat Games are briefed as follows:
 
1.      Competition Events of Wushu Competition
1.1    Wushu Taolu
Men’s Events: Changquan, Nanquan & Nangun all-round, Taijiquan & Taijijian all-round, Daoshu & Gunshu all-round
Women’s Events: Changquan, Nanquan & Nandao all-round, Taijiquan & Taijijian all-round, Jianshu & Qiangshu all-round
1.2    Wushu Sanda
Men’s Category: 56kg, 70kg, 85kg
Women’s Category: 52kg, 60kg
 
2. Qualification Criteria of Wushu Competition
The 10th World Wushu Championships is the qualification systems of the wushu competition of 2010 SportAccord Combat Games, and according to the competition events of the Games, the top placed 6 athletes in Taolu and top 4 placed athletes in Sanda will be qualified for the Games.
2.1 The top placed 6 athletes in Changquan (men & women) will qualify their national/regional federations a qualification place in the corresponding event.
2.2 The top placed 6 athletes in all-round event (men & women) will qualify their national/regional federations a qualification place in the corresponding event (Sum of the two single events).
2.3 For sanda competition, the top placed 4 athletes in 56kg, 70kg, 85kg (men) and 52kg, 60kg (women) will qualify their national/regional federations a qualification place in the corresponding category of the 10th World Wushu Championships.
 
3. Qualification Criteria of Wushu Competition
In order to demonstrate the highest level of athletes and wide universality of participation:
3.1 One country/region may only obtain one (1) qualification place in one (1) event.
If a national/regional federation acquires more than one (1) qualification places in Changquan or same all-round event, the national/regional federation concerned should give up the redundant places. The place will be given to the next best placed national/regional federation in the ranking list of the respective event/category.
3.2 One athlete may only obtain one (1) qualification place in one (1) event.
If one (1) athlete acquires more than one (1) qualification places in Changquan or certain all-round event, the athlete concerned should give up the redundant places. The place will be given to the next best placed national/regional federation in the ranking list of the respective event/category.
3.3 If a national/regional federation does not use one (1) sanda quota place achieved at the qualification system, the place will be cancelled.
3.4 China can directly obtain the qualification places as the host country.
 
4. Participation Method
4.1 Each IWUF member federation may enter only one (1) team.
4.2 Each team may enter at most eight (8) athletes (no limitation to the number of events/categories and genders). One athlete may enter only one event. The athletes should have participated in the 10th World Wushu Championships and have acquired the qualification places of the Wushu Competition of 2010 SportAccord Combat Games.
4.3 Each team may enter at most one (1) team official. He/she will be responsible for his/her international airfare, local accommodation and transportation.
4.4 The Organizing Committee of the Games will be responsible for athletes’ international airfare, local accommodation and transportation during their stay in Beijing.
4.5 The host country will not occupy the qualification places and its team shall participate in the Taolu competition.
4.6 The list of the qualified athletes is being confirmed with the relevant IWUF member federations, the final list of qualified athletes shall be informed once the confirmation is completed.
4.7 The Secretariat is negotiating with the Organizing Committee regarding wushu competition. The relevant matters will be informed to the IWUF member federations in due course. 
 
5. Any matters uncovered in the Regulations will be notified to the IWUF member federations in due course.
