IWUF Delegation Visited Romania, San Marino and Iceland


To further promote wushu and enlarge IWUF member federations in Europe, Mr. Yu Zaiqing, Vice Minister of Chinese Sports Ministry, Vice President of Chinese Olympic Committee and President of IWUF visited Romania, San Marino and Iceland from November 19 to 29, 2007. During his visit, Mr. Yu held talks with the Presidents of the National Olympic Committees and senior officials of the Sports Ministries of the three countries. They exchanged views on wushu development in these countries and bilateral cooperation of sports between Chinese Olympic Committee and the three NOCs. Mr. Yu also briefed on the preparation of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. The presidents of the NOCs and leaders of the sports authorities expressed to support wushu development in their countries and extended best wishes and confidence for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Mr. Wang Xiaolin, Secretary General of the IWUF and President of Chinese Wushu Association also joined the visit. The delegation also had discussions with the leaders of the three wushu associations. They hoped that San Marino and Iceland wushu associations would join in the IWUF family soon.
