With the Chinese Wushu Association (CWA) submitting their bid by the end of June, 2017, Shanghai became the only candidate city to host the 15th World Wushu Championships (WWC) in 2019.

Located on the east coast of China, Shanghai is one of the most populous cities in the world. In the past few years, as a global financial center and transport hub, it has successfully hosted various international activities and sports events. The IWUF’s 1st Sanda World Cup was also held in Shanghai in 2002.

In the upcoming September, Shanghai will make a presentation during the 34th IWUF Executive Board Meeting and the 14th IWUF Congress in Kazan.
