Regulations

 

1. Date

August 26 to 31, 2007   

Time of arrival: August

Time of departure: August 31, 2007

 

2. Place

Emeishan, Sichuan Province, China

 

3. Organized by:

Chinese Wushu Association, Sichuan Provincial Sports Bureau and Leshan Municipal People’s Government

 

4. Undertaken by:

Emeishan Municipal People’s Government; Emeishan Scenic Spot Administrative Committee and Leshan Sports Bureau

 

5. Participants:

5.1 Member federations of International Wushu Federations;

5.2 Those wushu organizations which have been recognized by the member associations of IWUF.

5.3 Those wushu organizations located in the countries or regions not affiliated to IWUF.

 

6. Competition Events:

Taolu events include barehanded, apparatus and dual events. Barehanded and apparatus of the same kinds are put into the same groups. All barehanded and apparatus items with less than 5 participants are put into other groups.

Special events: Emei wushu barehanded routines, apparatus and dual events

 

7. Participation Method:

7.1 Each team may enter 1 team leader, 1 coach, 1 team doctor and there is no limitation to the number of athletes.

7.2 Each competitor may enter at most 2 individual events (one barehanded and one apparatus). The competitor may enter for dual items.

7.3 Each team may enter at most 2 dual events. Each group is limited to 3 persons. Male and female athletes can be mixed. There is no limitation for the age groups.

8. Competition Methods:

8.1 The competition shall be individual competition.

8.2 Taolu competition is divided by age groups:

Group A: above 61 years old
Group B: 41- 60
Group C: 19 – 40
Group D: under 18
Groups with less than 5 persons shall be combined to the above group.

8.3 Time limit

- Other individual events and dual events shall be between 40 seconds and 2 minutes.

- Taijiquan shall be between 4 and 6 minutes; Taiji apparatus routines shall be between 3 and 4 minutes.

8.4 The Taolu competition will adopt the “Rules for Traditional Wushu Taolu Competition” (Trial Version) endorsed by the Chinese Wushu Association in 2006. For details please visit the website of the Chinese Wushu Association: www.wushu.com.cn

 

9. Placing and Awards:

The top three places of each age group of male and female will be awarded.

10. Financial Conditions:

10.1 All participating teams are to be self-financed.

10.2 The Organizing Committee will arrange the accommodation for the participating teams.

10.3 Accommodation

USD 50.00 /person/day

10.4 All competitors should go through life insurance formalities by themselves.

10.5 To guarantee the order of the competition, if there are any changes needed to be made for participants or participating events, the teams should apply in written form to the Organizing Committee before competition (14:00, August 27) for approval and USD 20.00 will be charged for each change.

 

11. Judges

Competition judges will be assigned by the Chinese Wushu Association.

 

12. Entry and Registration:

12.1 Deadline for Entry: before July 25, 2007. All participants should submit two copies of entry forms (printed on A4 paper), together with copies of passports and Health Certificates, which should be mailed to the Chinese Wushu Association and the Organizing Committee of Emei International Wushu Festival.

12.2 Registration time: Please arrive at Chengdu Railway Station or Chengdu Shuangliu Airport before 20:00 on August 26. The Organizing Committee will arrange meeting the teams at the Emeishan City Transportation Center and Emeishan Tourist Transportation Center and transportation to Xiuyuan Hotel of Emeishan.
