On the evening of April 11, the IWUF Technical Committee & IWUF Judges' Committee's joint meeting was held successfully in Jiangyin, China. The meeting was hosted by IWUF Technical Committee (TC) Chair, Li Yongqiang, attended by IWUF Judges’ Committee (JC) Jin Xiaobing, Vice President Sherif Mostafa, TC Vice Chair Lu Xiaolin, Shao Zhaoming, and seven members of both committees, with Athletes' Committee Lai Xiaoxiao attending the meeting as an observer.
Chair Li Yongqiang and Chair Jin Xiaobing briefed the results of the Technical Committee and Judges' Committee meetings respectively, delivering special reports on key items including the revision of wushu competition rules, event regulations, criteria and methods of excellent judges selection, as well as the wushu talent training courses in 2026. Participating members put forward constructive proposals on the event programming of wushu competitions at multi-sports events such as the 2025 Riyadh Islamic Solidarity Games and the 2026 Brasilia FISU World Combat Games. The meeting also heard a special presentation of the wushu competition cloud system, focusing on the development of the digital transformation of wushu.
The joint meeting has strengthened the institutional foundation for the international development of wushu through practical cooperation between committees. The next step will focus on accelerating the implementation of meeting outcomes to promote the process of standardization and normative development of the sport of wushu.
