The meeting was chaired by IWUF President Gao Zhidan, with the attendance of core leadership members including Vice Presidents Anthony Goh, Sherif Mostafa, Wing Kit Chan , Patrick Van Campenhout, and Secretary General Zhang Yuping.

In his opening speech, President Gao pointed out that holding the strategic planning meeting in Lausanne, the central hub of global sports and the Olympic movement, is of great significance. It conveys a strong signal that wushu is embracing a more confident and open attitude, actively integrating into the global sports community and the Olympic family, and seeking deeper resonance with the Olympic spirit.

The meeting invited Anthony Edgar, former Media Operations Director of the International Olympic Committee, to deliver a special report on media communication strategies for wushu's Olympic bid. Drawing on his extensive experience in Olympic operations, Edgar provided insightful analyses of the key aspects of the bid process and communication strategies, offering professional perspectives and constructive recommendations for advancing wushu's inclusion in the Olympics.
