IWUF Holds a Working Meeting with the IWGA in Lausanne

On December 11 IWUF Secretary General Zhang Yuping met with a visiting delegation led by International World Games Association Deputy CEO Guillaume Felli and Sports Director Sebastian Garvens at the IWUF headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland. IWUF Deputy Secretary General Chen Chong attended the meeting. The two sides held fruitful discussions on the development of wushu in the World Games and future cooperation.
 

Secretary General Zhang Yuping extended a warm welcome to the visiting IWGA officials. She reflected on the debut of wushu as an official event at the World Games in Chengdu this past August, noting that the wushu competitions during the Games were marked by an enthusiastic atmosphere and high spectator engagement, fully showcasing the unique charm of wushu that integrates cultural heritage with competitive appeal. She expressed gratitude to the IWGA for providing wushu with a high-standard, international platform for exhibition and exchange, which has effectively promoted the global dissemination and development of the sport. She emphasized that the International Wushu Federation highly values the positive impact generated through wushu's participation in the World Games and looks forward to another impressive showcase at the next edition of the World Games, scheduled to be held in Karlsruhe, Germany, in 2029.

Deputy CEO Guillaume fully affirmed the success of wushu at Chengdu 2025 The World Games and the remarkable achievements made by the IWUF in promoting the internationalization of wushu. The two sides engaged in pragmatic discussions on specific matters such as the application process and follow-up steps for wushu's inclusion in the 2029 World Games. In the next phase, the IWUF will actively continue its efforts to deepen wushu's integration into The World Games, and further expand its global influence.
