The IWUF 11th Sanda World Cup was held from May 13 to 15 at the Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion in Macao, China. This World Cup, organized by the International Wushu Federation and hosted by the Wushu General Association of Macau, attracted 110 participants from 21 countries and regions, including nearly 60 world champion wushu sanda athletes. They competed across 17 weight categories (male and female), going through 5 competition sessions and 52 bouts, ultimately producing 17 gold medals, fully demonstrating the vibrant vitality of the global sport of sanda.

After the morning matches on May 15, the closing ceremony of this Sanda World Cup was held at noon, bringing the event to a successful conclusion. During the ceremony, award-winning athletes from around the world delivered exciting performances, showcasing the unique charm of wushu sanda and earning warm applause from the audience.

IWUF Vice President Sherif Mostafa, attended the closing ceremony and delivered a speech. He affirmed the successful hosting of this World Cup, expressed gratitude to all the athletes, referees, and staff for their dedication, and expressed his hope that wushu sanda would step onto a broader stage in the future.

Event Medal Standings

In terms of the medal standings, outstanding athletes from 18 countries and regions across four continents demonstrated excellent competitive skills and sportsmanship, earning honors at this competition. China topped the table with 7 golds and 1 silver, followed by Vietnam with 3 golds and 3 silvers in second place, and India with 2 golds, 1 silver, and 2 bronzes in third place, showcasing the strength of Asia’s top wushu sanda teams. Hong Kong, China, secured 1 gold and 1 silver; the host team, Macao, China, earned 1 silver and 3 bronzes. Kazakhstan, Republic of Korea, and the Philippines each won 1 silver and 1 bronze; Kyrgyzstan took 1 silver; and Indonesia claimed 1 bronze. In Africa, Egypt ranked fourth with 2 golds, 1 silver, and 1 bronze, while Algeria finished sixth with 1 gold, highlighting the strong rise of wushu sanda in Africa. In Europe, Armenia and Belarus each won 1 silver, while Romania and Switzerland each earned 1 bronze. In the Americas, Brazil and Peru each secured 1 bronze.
On the last competition day, May 15, the finals of 12 weight categories and the last round-robin matches were held in full swing, and the medal winners were decided. Several thrilling head-to-head contests took place, where athletes demonstrated the breadth and power of wushu with their superb skills, drawing waves of cheers from the audience.


In the third match of the women’s 56kg round-robin, CHAN Tsz Ching from Hong Kong, China, defeated Beatriz ADRIAO RUSTICE SILVA from Brazil 2-0 to win the silver medal. Vietnamese athlete THI THU THUY Nguyen claimed the gold.



In the women’s 60kg category, Chinese athlete Wu Xiaowei defeated the athlete from Macao, China, to claim the gold medal with her steady performance and point difference advantage, adding further glory to the Chinese team. CHU Man Sin from Macao, China, won the silver medal, while Indian athlete Kareena KAUSHIK secured the bronze.


In the women’s 70kg final, Chinese athlete Chen Ruiping defeated the Egyptian athlete 2-0 to successfully take the gold medal, while Egyptian athlete Mennatallah ALY won the silver.

In the women’s 75kg category, Indian athlete Shivani, with agile movements and an outstanding performance, defeated Individual Neutral Athlete Ekaterina VALCHUK 2-0.


In the third match of the men’s 48kg round-robin, Chinese athlete Li Jianhui secured the gold medal by defeating the Indian athlete 2-0 with stable center of gravity control and precise scoring techniques. Indian athlete Kushal KUMAR won the silver medal, while Egyptian athlete Ali Daoud took the bronze.



Chinese athlete Wang Chengjin displayed an overwhelmingly dominant performance in the 65kg category, defeating the Philippine athlete by point difference to claim the gold medal. Philippine athlete Xander ALIPIO won the silver medal, while Peruvian athlete Jesus HERRERAS MONTALVO took the bronze.



In the third match of the men’s 70kg round-robin, Kazakh athlete Alizhan ABLAGATOV defeated the athlete from Macao, China, 2-0 to win the silver medal. The athlete from Macao, China, WAI UN Lat, won the bronze medal. Vietnamese athlete Van Chuong Truong claimed the gold medal.



In the men's 75kg final, Chinese athlete Jin Gensheng, relying on his excellent footwork, rich combination of moves, and superb rhythm control, defeated the Republic of Korea’s athlete 2-0 to add another gold medal for the Chinese team. Republic of Korea’s athlete SONG Gicheol won the silver medal, while FONG Chi Hin from Macau, China, took the bronze.


As the competition weight class increases, the explosive power of the athletes becomes even more impressive. In the men’s 80kg final, Algerian athlete Marouane ADIMI defeated the Belarusian athlete 2-0 to win a precious gold medal for Algeria. Belarusian athlete Andrei MIADZUN won the silver medal, while Kazakh athlete Abdurashid ABDULLAYEV took the bronze.


In the men's 85kg category, Alhussein Wahdan from Egypt, bronze medalist of the last World Championships, delivered an outstanding performance and won the gold medal for Egypt. In the final round-robin match, neutral athlete Dzhapar Magomedov defeated the Romanian competitor 2:0 to secure the silver medal. Sergiu Daniel Breb from Romania won the bronze medal.



In the men's 100kg category, athlete CAI Jiahao from Hong Kong, China won the gold medal. In the final round-robin match, Individual Neutral Athlete (AIN) Shamil ABDULMUSLIMOV won by technical superiority, defeating the athlete from Switzerland to claim the silver medal, while Swiss athlete Markus GLUTZ took the bronze.

In the men's over 100kg final, Egyptian athlete Ahmed SHALABY launched a powerful and swift attack, defeating Karimzhon BALTABAEV from Kyrgyzstan 2-0 to win the gold medal.


The entire event featured bilingual commentary in Chinese and English, and was simultaneously broadcast live to a global audience through domestic and international media platforms including Wushu TV, Facebook, Migu, Chinese Tiktok, and others. The live broadcast of the event lasted 12 hours, with a cumulative total broadcast time of nearly 100 hours, delivering the exciting moments from the competition arena to audiences around the world in real time.


The IWUF selected nearly 20 international technical officials from 14 countries and regions to officiate the event, ensuring fairness, justice, and credibility in the competition. At the same time, the event firmly upheld the concept of "Clean Sport," cooperating with the International Testing Agency to carry out anti-doping education, testing, and supervision, fully committed to preserving the integrity of wushu.

This marks the first time that a top-tier international Wushu individual event has been held in Macao, China. The successful hosting of this World Cup not only fully leveraged Macao's cultural and tourism advantages, fostering cross-sector integration among sports, culture, and tourism, and adding new dimensions to Macao's sports industry and urban brand development, but also promoted the local growth of wushu sanda in Macao, facilitated exchanges of wushu culture among countries and regions, and delivered a high-level, high-quality wushu sanda gala to the world.
