The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has launched the pre-Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games (YOG) e-learning courses on Athlete365. While the e-learning courses are essential for young athletes and their entourage members participating in the event next October-November, the learnings from the modules are useful and open to all elite young athletes and entourage members.Taking place from 31 October to 13 November 2026, the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games (YOG) will be the first Olympic sports event to take place on African soil.
Wushu is one of the official sports at the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, marking the first time wushu has been included as an official medal sport in an Olympic series event. The wushu competition will be held from November 1-3, 2026, at the Dakar Expo Center (DEX). A total of 48 athletes from around the world will compete in four events: men's changquan combined (changquan and gunshu), women's changquan combined (changquan and gunshu), men's taijiquan combined (taijiquan and taijishan), and women's taijiquan combined (taijiquan and taijishan), showcasing the skills and spirit of young wushu athletes.
The courses are available in nine languages for athletes and six languages for entourage members.
They are divided into four interactive, age-appropriate and concise modules for them to learn about:
Staying Mentally Fit
Safeguarding
Preventing Competition Manipulation
Anti-doping (ADEL course hosted by WADA)
Upon completion of the first three modules, the participant will receive a certificate signed by the IOC President Kirsty Coventry.
