On June 4, 2026, the 4th Equatorial Guinea "Chinese Ambassador Cup" Wushu Championships were held in the city of Bososo. Chinese Ambassador to Equatorial Guinea Wang Wengang, Equatorial Guinea's Minister of Tourism Sr. D. Pedro Antonio Oliviera, Vice Minister of Education Department Andrés Ikuga Fernández, Román Ondjigüi, President and Head Coach of the Equatoguinean Federation of Kung Fu, as well as teachers and students from the Bososo Boarding School, local government officials, and members of the community, more than 200 people attended the event.
Ambassador Wang encouraged the participants to embody the spirit of wushu, carry forward the friendship between the two nations, and strive to become "masters" who scale the heights of wushu and "ambassadors" who sow the seeds of friendship, contributing to the cultural and people-to-people exchanges between China and Equatorial Guinea.
Representatives of Equatorial Guinea expressed their gratitude to the Chinese Embassy for its long-standing support for the youth and sports development of the country. They encouraged young Equatoguineans to experience firsthand the profound depth and unique charm of Chinese culture through this championship and to write new chapters in the story of China-Equatorial Guinea friendship in the future.
The championship was divided into two categories: taolu and sanda, with fierce competition throughout. The participants fully demonstrated the results of their hard training—explosive power from the legs and waist, smooth rotational transitions, sweeping kicks that planted firmly into the ground. Their performance was both sharp and respectful, vividly embodying the spirit and virtue of wushu in every movement.
Between bouts, teachers and students from the Equatoguinean Federation of Kung Fu presented demonstrations of bare-handed exercise routines and performances with weapons such as the dao, qiang, jian, and gun. The audience applauded continuously, cheers rang out one after another, and the atmosphere was lively and exuberant.
