On the evening of April 15, 2025 the IWUF Wushu Taolu Judges Training Course officially concluded in Pegasus Water Town, Jiangyin, China. The training, centered on the wushu taolu events at the 2026 Dakar Youth Olympic Games (YOG), aimed to cultivate a high-quality judge team for the YOG wushu competitions. Nearly 60 judges from 31 countries and regions attended the five-day systematic training.
At the graduation ceremony, IWUF Judges’ Committee Chair Jin Xiaobing, Vice Chair Sherif Mostafa, Members Marcus Alves, Iwan Kwok, Jennifer Dai Juan Gu and Niek Op't Ende, Head of Jiangyin Shengshi Sports Event Co Ltd and Director of the Cultural and Sports Stadium of Jiangyin Pegasus Watertown Zhu Yifeng attended and awarded certificates to the expert instructors and the trainees.
In his closing speech, Jin Xiaobing emphasized that judges are not only enforcers of wushu rules, but also the guardians of fair and impartial competition. He demanded the trainees to further master the officiating standards, strictly abide by wushu discipline, and strengthen international exchanges and mutual learning. He especially mentioned that the 10th World Junior Wushu Championships in Tianjin, China in 2026 will serve as an important platform to evaluate the training outcomes, while the Dakar YOG will present a crucial opportunity to showcase the international image of wushu. He expressed his expectation for the trainees to contribute to the YOG wushu competitions with their excellent skills and exemplary conduct.
